Sources from the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion confirmed the figures this Saturday. They also stated that efforts continue to house the remaining people.
Badalona Squatters Find New Accommodation The relocation process has been gradual. On 23 December, 35 people were housed. However, another 20 were placed on Christmas Eve.
These join the 83 people who were offered accommodation in the initial days after the eviction. That brings the total to 147.
The support device for these migrants remains active. Its priority is to find places for the most vulnerable individuals.
PSC, ERC, En Comú Podem, and Guanyem in Badalona have made demands. They want the PP-governed council, led by Xavier García Albiol, to activate the Winter Operation.
Emergency measures are urgently needed, they argue. This is due to the ongoing rainstorm affecting Catalonia.
According to a report in La Vanguardia, the old institute had been occupied for some time. Its clearance underwent requested by the Badalona city authorities.
