This Sunday marks the first of the month, which means free entry to 15 Barcelona museums. From art galleries to Roman ruins, there’s something for everyone on 5 October. Here’s your complete guide to opening times and what’s on offer.

The CCCB Museum / Google Maps

The Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion (Av. Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, 7) opens 10am-6pm. Meanwhile, the Picasso Museum (Montcada, 15-23) runs from 9am to 7pm, with free access also Thursday to Saturday evenings from 7pm-9pm (booking required). The Maritime Museum (Avda. Drassanes, s/n) offers free entry Sunday afternoons from 3pm-7pm.

The Design Museum / Google Maps

The MUHBA’s main site at Plaça del Rei opens free all day, whilst its other locations offer free access from 3pm onwards. The Ethnological Museum and Museum of World Cultures (Montcada, 12-14 and Passeig Santa Madrona, 16) welcome visitors from 10am-7:30pm, with free Sunday afternoons from 3pm-7:30pm the rest of the month.

The Music Museum / Google Maps

Born Centre for Culture and Memory (Pl. Comercial, 12) lets you explore the archaeological site and exhibitions from 10am-8pm. The Natural Science Museum at Museu Blau (Pl. Leonardo da Vinci, 4-5) opens 10am-8pm on first Sundays, then 3pm onwards other Sundays. MNAC (Palau Nacional, Montjuïc) offers free collection viewing from 10am-3pm, plus every Saturday afternoon from 3pm.

The Photo Museum / Google Maps

The Music Museum (Lepant, 150) in Glòries runs 10am-7pm on first Sundays, with free entry from 3pm other Sundays and 6pm-9pm Thursdays. CCCB (Montalegre, 5) opens free 3pm-8pm (advance booking needed). Foto Colectania (Passeig Picasso, 14) welcomes visitors 11am-3pm.

The Picasso Museum / Google Maps

The Design Museum (Pl. Glòries Catalanes, 37) operates 10am-2pm and 3pm-8pm, whilst Montjuïc Castle (Ctra. Montjuïc, 66) opens 10am-8pm (3pm other Sundays). The Frederic Marès Museum (Pl. Sant Iu, 5) runs 11am-8pm, with free afternoons from 3pm the rest of the month.

One exception: MACBA (Pl. Àngels, 1) does free Saturdays instead, from 4pm-8pm. All venues might require booking for popular time slots, so check individual websites beforehand.
