Catalunya’s food scene is firing on all cylinders this weekend, with four major events happening across the region. From Bavarian beer festivals to vineyard celebrations, there’s something for every food lover.
The 12th edition of Oktoberfest Barcelona is already underway at Montjuïc, bringing Bavaria’s biggest beer festival to Spain. Last year, over 110,000 people showed up to enjoy German beers, pork knuckle, pretzels, and the classic apfelstrudel. Meanwhile, traditional costume contests and live music keep the atmosphere buzzing. Access to the venue is free, but booking a table ahead is recommended.
However, if you want a more local flavour, Benvinguts a Pagès opens up 70 farms, fisheries, and agricultural sites across Catalunya. Visitors can see exactly where their food comes from, watch production processes, and taste fresh local products. The initiative also includes 80 rural accommodations, 40 parallel activities, and over 100 local restaurants showcasing regional produce.

The Fòrum Gastronòmic Ciutat de Figueres takes over the Rambla de Figueres with cooking demonstrations, debates with top chefs, and tastings from local artisan producers. This year’s highlight is a Dalí-inspired meal and a competition to crown the best brunyol (traditional fritter) in the Empordà region.
Finally, Aires de Verema de Perelada transforms the gardens of Celler Peralada into a wine and food celebration. The event features guided tastings led by sommeliers, a market with local products and crafts, live music, and family-friendly games. Visitors can test their palates with blind tasting challenges and sensory experiences.
