The 48h Open House festival, which reveals architecture in spaces usually closed to the public, will return to Barcelona and six surrounding towns on 25 and 26 October. The popular event has grown from attracting no more than 3,000 people at the start to around 75,000 visitors in recent years.

The festival reaches its sixteenth edition, exploring 136 buildings in Barcelona and 63 more distributed across Badalona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Joan Despí, Vilassar de Dalt and Sitges. From the entire repertoire, 57 properties have never featured in the open house catalogue before, a unique feast to savour in 48 hours for fans of art, architecture, design and construction.

The festival takes place during a complete weekend, offering access to nearly 200 buildings in total between Barcelona and its metropolitan area, with special interest in spaces that normally aren’t open to the general public.
