Barcelona’s Parc del Fòrum will host the 53rd Feria de Abril de Catalunya from Friday 24 April to Sunday 3 May. This year, the popular cultural event will offer free admission to all visitors, a change from last year’s charged entry.

Daniel Salinero, President of the Federación de Entidades Culturales Andaluzas en Catalunya (FECAC), confirmed the free entry. He made the announcement during the official poster presentation. “The fair will once again be free and open to all,” Mr Salinero stated, reversing last year’s decision to charge for access. The event’s organisers expect a significant increase in attendance. This is partly due to the 1 May public holiday for Worker’s Day.

The official poster, designed by Mediaclip, blends traditional Andalusian elements with Barcelona’s unique identity. It features a colourful peineta, a traditional Spanish comb. This is adorned with the iconic facade of Casa Batlló. This design pays tribute to “Gaudí Year 2026,” marking the centenary of the architect Antoni Gaudí’s death. The poster’s unveiling took place at the modernist Casa Batlló itself, located on Passeig de Gràcia.

Andalusian Culture in Barcelona

The Feria de Abril transforms the Parc del Fòrum esplanade into a lively hub of Andalusian culture. This vibrant event lasts for ten days. Visitors can explore numerous casetas, or traditional marquees, offering music, dance, and authentic gastronomy. The event is a major spring highlight for Barcelona residents and tourists alike.

Organisers and Public Support

The FECAC organises the annual festival. It receives support from the Barcelona City Council and other public administrations. This collaboration ensures the continuation of one of Catalonia’s most popular cultural gatherings. The Parc del Fòrum, a large coastal venue in the Sant Martí district, regularly hosts major events.

The return of free admission aims to make the 53rd Feria de Abril accessible. This will allow an even wider audience to attend. It reinforces the event’s role as a significant celebration of Andalusian heritage within Catalonia. The organisers anticipate a successful and well-attended festival this spring.
