A young motorcyclist has died following a crash on the B-10 motorway near Sant Adrià de Besòs.
The accident occurred shortly after half past five on Wednesday, when the rider lost control, left the carriageway and collided with the central barrier. Emergency services rushed to the scene, with three patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra and five ambulances deployed. The 24-year-old, a resident of Barcelona, was taken in critical condition to Vall d’Hebron Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the precise cause of the accident. His death brings the total number of road fatalities in Catalonia this year to 100, a grim reminder of the dangers on the region’s roads.
