A striking new piece of street art has appeared in the heart of Barcelona. This Bad Bunny graffiti uses the image of the global music superstar to deliver a sharp critique of US immigration policies.
Painted by artist Alberto León, the mural depicts the Puerto Rican singer shielding a young migrant child from the gaze of Donald Trump. Located on Carrer del Sotstinent Navarro, adjacent to the busy Via Laietana, the artwork has rapidly gained attention across social media since its unveiling.

Bad Bunny graffiti Barcelona: Symbols of peace and conflict
The graffiti draws heavy inspiration from Bad Bunny’s recent Super Bowl appearance. It portrays the artist dressed in white-symbolising peace-holding hands with Liam Conejo Ramos, a five-year-old boy famously detained in Minneapolis by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The child looks up at the singer with admiration, clutching a Grammy award in one hand. In stark contrast, a suited Donald Trump stands beside them, hands open in a gesture of frustration or disapproval. While the figures of Bad Bunny and the child are accompanied by white doves, the former US President is depicted in a black suit with grey doves perched on his head and shoulder, creating a deliberate visual opposition.
Central to the piece is an American football held by the singer, inscribed with the phrase “Together we are America”. This references the prop used by Bad Bunny during his performance, which sought to redefine ‘America’ as the entire continent rather than a synonym for the United States alone.
Bad Bunny graffiti Barcelona: A message for the streets
Alberto León, a native of Tenerife, explained that he wanted to amplify the message Bad Bunny broadcast to millions: that love is more powerful than fear.
“It was a necessary message that I wanted to be on the street, and what better place to express myself than the centre of Barcelona, where there is a lot of tourism and many Latin communities.”Alberto León
Speaking to the EFE news agency, León noted that the artwork is deeply personal. Having witnessed his own family emigrate, he feels a strong connection to the Latin American community and the rejection many face when attempting to enter the United States.
The location of the mural was chosen strategically to “provoke conversation”. With a school located nearby, León hopes the image will inspire local children who encounter it on their daily commute.
Meanwhile, the work has generated a wave of positive reactions online for its bold stance on peace and unity. However, it has also sparked debate-fulfilling the artist’s goal of using Barcelona’s walls as a global showcase for dialogue.
