Barcelona cocktail bar La Traviesa has been sealed by authorities for the second time in eighteen months following repeated licence violations.
The establishment, located at Carrer de Tuset 28 in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district, gained notoriety as the meeting place where footballer Gerard Piqué first encountered Clara Chía.
Barcelona Cocktail Bar Faces Three-Month Closure
Urban Guard officers and district technical services executed the closure this Wednesday, imposing a three-month sealing order.

According to municipal sources speaking to TOT Barcelona, this action follows previous sanctions against the venue. The Barcelona cocktail bar had already received two fines before this latest enforcement measure.
District authorities confirm the establishment was operating as an unlicensed discotheque, constituting activity not permitted under its current licence. Furthermore, they emphasise this represents “repeated non-compliance, with previous fines and activity seals.” Tensions reportedly flared during the closure operation between enforcement officers and bar staff.
Bar management claim they received no prior notification of the sealing. Conversely, council sources maintain they had warned the establishment that continued violations would result in further action. This Barcelona cocktail bar previously faced closure in spring 2024 for similar licence breaches.
Interestingly, the venue operated normally during Halloween celebrations on October 31st, just days before the enforcement action. The establishment’s social media channels showed no indication of the impending closure, unlike last year when they publicly acknowledged the sealing.
This case highlights Barcelona’s ongoing efforts to regulate nightlife establishments operating beyond their licensed parameters. The city continues to balance vibrant nightlife with community standards and legal compliance.
