According to a police statement released on Friday, officers intercepted the drugs across three separate checks. In the first incident, they discovered 24 vacuum-sealed packages distributed across two suitcases belonging to a single passenger. Therefore, this initial find triggered further inspections. The city has previously seen similar tactics in police operations against organised crime.

Subsequently, a second suspect was detained after attempting to transport a suitcase not registered in their name. Inside this luggage, agents found 18 packages containing the same substance. In addition, Catalan police warnings about criminal networks have highlighted such methods.
In the third operation, police inspected two suitcases checked by another traveller. This search yielded an additional 24 vacuum-sealed packages. Consequently, the coordinated efforts resulted in the confiscation of 66 packages of marijuana, totalling 74kg.
Judicial Proceedings Following the Seizure
The three detainees now face charges for crimes against public health. Following their arrests at the airport, authorities placed them at the disposal of the judiciary for legal processing.
