L'Auditori de Barcelona will host a free Spring Festival this Saturday, 25 April, offering a day of music and creative activities for children and families. The event aims to foster musical exploration and imaginative play for young attendees.
The festival runs in two distinct time slots: from 11:00 to 14:00 and again from 16:00 to 19:00. All activities take place outdoors at L'Auditori, located in the Eixample district, a central area of Barcelona. Organisers designed the programme to encourage play, discovery, and creativity, with music as the central theme.
Immersive Musical Experiences
One highlight is "Sonarium," an immersive sound installation specifically for early childhood. This space allows children to experiment with musical materials, percussion, and sound objects. They can explore rhythms, textures, and intensities through free play. This encourages imagination and body expression. Another activity, "The Magic Baton," provides a playful area where costumes and symbolic play invite families to transform into characters. Participants can explore scenic creation in a collaborative way.
Reading and Baby Corners
A dedicated reading space, organised with the Clot and Fort Pienc libraries, offers a selection of stories. These tales relate to music, instruments, and rhythm. The area provides a relaxed environment to promote reading. For the youngest visitors, a baby corner features small percussion instruments. Babies can freely experiment with sounds and develop auditory sensitivity from an early age.
Additional Activities and Context
Attendees with tickets for the day's concerts can also enjoy a free guided visit to the Museum of Music at 11:00. Additionally, Nestlé organises various games and puzzles for children. L'Auditori de Barcelona, a significant cultural institution in the city, regularly hosts concerts and educational programmes. This festival continues its mission to make music accessible to the community.
The Spring Festival provides a valuable opportunity for Barcelona residents and visitors to engage with music and creativity. It offers a free, family-friendly event designed to inspire young minds through interactive experiences.
