Forn Sant Josep, a family bakery on Carrer Roger de Llúria, has been crowned winner of the ‘Best Bread in Barcelona’ competition. Master baker Emili Feliu took first prize after a blind tasting by a panel of judges at the Estació del Nord.

Second place went to Carlos Rovira of Forn Rovira in Santa Agnès de Malanyanes, while Andreu Galceran of Cal Mosso in Premià de Mar secured third. The contest drew 50 artisanal bakers from across the province, each presenting two round loaves and two baguettes prepared to strict specifications.
By winning, Feliu earns direct entry into the list of the 25 Best Bakers of Catalonia 2025. That final ranking will be determined in October, when the provincial winners and top scorers from the earlier heats compete for the coveted Pa d’Or de Catalunya.
In a charitable gesture, the organisers — Panàtics and the Obra Social Ernest Verdaguer — donated more than 80 loaves from the competition to the Hospital de Campanya at Barcelona’s Santa Anna church, ensuring the bread also reached those in need.
