The 62nd Barcelona International Boat Show (link) concluded this Sunday with impressive attendance figures, welcoming over 18,000 visitors to the city’s waterfront venues. Organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), this year’s Barcelona Boat Show featured a renewed focus on attracting premium visitors through expanded exhibition spaces and larger vessels. Running from 8th October, the event successfully drew both national and international buyers seeking luxury maritime experiences.

Meanwhile, organisers reported significantly higher business activity compared to previous editions. Furthermore, the visitor profile demonstrated greater purchasing power and exclusivity, marking a strategic shift for the event. Consequently, this repositioning appears to have paid dividends for exhibitors and organisers alike.

Moreover, the 2025 edition introduced several major innovations, including the incorporation of Barcelona’s actual docks into the exhibition space. This expansion allowed for displaying larger vessels that couldn’t previously be accommodated. Additionally, visitors enjoyed Europe’s largest catamaran exhibition, featuring 16 models nominated for European Boat of the Year awards.

The show’s president, Luis Conde, emphasised their progress in a statement: “We’ve taken a firm first step toward a more exclusive, business-oriented experience that encourages us to continue working toward establishing this event among Europe’s leaders.” Therefore, Barcelona’s position as the Mediterranean’s nautical capital appears strengthened by this successful edition.

Among the standout attractions was the world premiere of the Horizon FD100, a stunning 31-metre yacht that drew considerable attention. Similarly, the Earthling E40 electric catamaran showcased the industry’s move toward sustainable propulsion systems, reflecting the event’s focus on environmental innovation.

The newly introduced Village space provided culinary delights from two-Michelin-starred chef Rafa Zafra, offering visitors gourmet experiences alongside nautical viewing. Meanwhile, the Àgora Port conference space hosted approximately 30 sessions where experts discussed blue economy challenges and sustainable nautical development.

With all these successful elements combined, the Barcelona Boat Show organisers are already preparing for the next edition scheduled for 14th-18th October 2026. The event’s continued evolution toward premium experiences suggests Barcelona will maintain its prominent position in Europe’s nautical calendar for years to come.
