The Barcelona English Speakers meetup has grown to over 2,000 members. It’s become one of the city’s main spots for expats and locals to practise English whilst making connections. Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory.

Wild Rover sits on Carrer Santa Monica, just a block up from Drassanes metro station. The Irish pub regularly hosts international events and has plenty of space for larger groups. It’s a familiar spot for many in Barcelona’s expat scene.

The event is organised by Brata, Varun, Daniel and Owen. They’ve been running regular meetups for the English-speaking community, including sub-groups for sports, tech and music enthusiasts. However, this Halloween edition promises something different from the usual weekly gatherings. It is designed for people to be able to make new friends, so do not worry if you are attending solo, there will be an organiser there to help you to meet others.

Moreover, the group operates a WhatsApp community with various interest channels. Members can join specific groups based on their hobbies or professional interests. This makes it easier to find like-minded people beyond the main events.

The Halloween meetup is free to attend. Registration through Meetup helps organisers estimate numbers, so please do sign up if you want to attend. Anyone looking to expand their social circle whilst celebrating Halloween should consider heading along.

For those new to Barcelona or wanting to improve their English, these meetups offer a relaxed environment. The mix of locals and internationals creates opportunities for cultural exchange whilst enjoying the city’s nightlife. There is a limit of 100 attendees due to the size of the event, so sign up now to avoid disappointment.
