The initiative aims to position Barcelona as a top destination for international talent. Barcelona Global president Ramon Agenjo highlighted the city’s economic and research potential. However, the organisation faces competition from other European business hubs seeking similar talent.

Broader Economic Context

This event occurs amidst broader efforts to strengthen Barcelona’s business appeal. The city’s finance cluster recently announced similar ambitions to create a financial hub. Meanwhile, international student numbers continue growing across Catalan universities.

Rosa Ortiz, MBA Day director, emphasised creating future ambassadors for Barcelona abroad. The closing ceremony took place at Tibidabo with city representatives. Organisers hope participants will choose Barcelona for their professional careers.

Future editions will expand to include more companies and institutions. Barcelona Global plans to track how many participants eventually work in the city. The organisation continues developing programmes to attract international talent.
