In a significant Barcelona hashish seizure, officers from the Barcelona Urban Guard (Guàrdia Urbana) have seized over 96 kilograms of hashish. This major bust followed a surveillance operation in the Les Corts district. Consequently, police arrested one individual, who has since been remanded in custody.

The incident occurred on 15 January at approximately 16:30. However, authorities released details in an official statement this Tuesday. An unmarked patrol unit operating in the area noticed two individuals loading large boxes into a VTC (private hire) vehicle on Carrer Pintor Tapiró.

According to police reports, the officers’ attention was drawn by the individuals’ “nervous and watchful attitude” as they moved the cargo. Therefore, suspecting illicit activity, the plainclothes officers initiated a surveillance operation. They then followed the vehicle through the district.
Discovery of Branded Packages in Barcelona Hashish Seizure
The patrol intercepted the car on Avinguda Sant Ramon Nonat. Upon inspecting the boot, officers discovered three large boxes. These contained 96.26 kilograms of substance suspected to be hashish.
The drugs were compressed into rectangular bricks and sealed with transparent film. Notably, investigators observed that several packages were labelled with a distinctive logo. This logo featured a crown and a gold-coloured letter “W”. Traffickers commonly use this method to identify specific batches or producers.
The driver of the vehicle stated that the transport service had been contracted via a standard mobile application. Following the discovery of the narcotics, police arrested one individual for alleged crimes against public health. The suspect has already appeared before a judge and has been admitted to prison. Meanwhile, the investigation remains open. It may potentially reveal further details about organized crime operations in Spain.
