Barcelona Litoral speed cameras are now active and issuing fines on the city’s busy ring road.
The Barcelona City Council activated the two new point-to-point radar systems this Friday, marking a significant escalation in traffic enforcement along the B-10.

Consequently, there is one device for each direction of travel: towards Llobregat and towards Besòs. The council’s Mobility Area and the Guàrdia Urbana jointly selected this location after analysing accident data. Their primary goal is to target sections with a higher incidence of traffic incidents.
The speed limit at this point on the Litoral ring road is 80 km/h. Furthermore, this installation forms part of the city’s broader commitment to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. The move to deploy new automated control systems is a key component of this strategy.
Technology Upgrade and Enforcement Focus
This installation represents a technological upgrade included in the council’s radar maintenance contract. Additionally, the contract covers the improvement and renewal of another radar on the Ronda de Dalt (B-20). The council argues that both new technology and the renewal of existing systems allow for better speed compliance monitoring. The ultimate aim is to prevent violations and, therefore, avoid accidents.
Historical data underscores the need for such measures. According to 2024 figures, the fifth highest-fining radar in Barcelona was also on the Litoral ring road. That device, at kilometre 7 in the Besòs direction, issued 12,778 fines last year. Meanwhile, radars on the Ronda de Dalt are also among the city’s top enforcers.
The second most prolific camera was on the Ronda de Dalt in the Llobregat direction near Nou Barris. It imposed a staggering 26,872 fines in 2024, averaging 80.5 per day. Other high-enforcement locations include a camera in Les Corts and another between Horta and Vall d’Hebron.
