Barcelona police are investigating a violent fight at La Pau Metro station in Sant Martí after one person was seriously injured on the L4 line.

The incident happened on Sunday, 24 May, around 03:00, according to Metrópoli. Around 20 people were involved in two groups, and the victim was not part of either side. Police said the person tried to separate the groups and was stabbed in the glute.

Emergency services took the injured person to hospital for treatment. The Mossos d'Esquadra confirmed the details to Metrópoli, and officers arrived shortly after the fight, but everyone involved had already left the station.

No arrests were made at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. La Pau station is in Sant Martí district, one of Barcelona’s most populated areas, and the L4 is operated by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB).

Incidents like this are a concern for people using Barcelona’s metro late at night, when stations are quieter and there are fewer staff around. For more local coverage, see our Community and Sport pages.
