He resumed his criminal activities in 2024 after a break. Officials recorded six incidents this year alone, according to Hospital Clínic Barcelona Sexual Assault Care. The most recent case occurred on 15 March.

Investigation Details Emerge

The suspect did not target specific Metro lines. He consistently wore a hood to evade security cameras. Mossos d’Esquadra sources also confirmed he has a prior record for theft.

The Àrea Regional de Transport Urbà (ARTU) of the Catalan police is leading the investigation. This unit specialises in urban transport crime. The Barcelona Metro serves millions of residents and tourists daily.

Ensuring Public Transport Safety

The court’s precautionary measure aims to protect public safety. It prevents the accused from entering the Metro system. This ensures a safer environment for commuters across the city.

The man will remain banned from the Metro until his trial concludes. The ongoing investigation by ARTU seeks to gather further evidence. This case highlights the police’s commitment to addressing public transport safety concerns in Barcelona.
