Barcelona’s public transport network will run without interruption on Tuesday night to ensure smooth travel during the city’s annual La Mercè festivities. Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), the metro and the TRAM will remain open all night from Tuesday 23 September, according to the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM).

The service boost will also extend across the weekend, beginning at 5 a.m. on Friday 26 September and continuing until midnight on Sunday 28 September. The metro will see additional trains across all lines, particularly during late-night hours, with reinforcements timed to coincide with the largest events of the festival.
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) will strengthen its bus services on 23, 24, 26, 27 and 28 September. Routes serving the main festival sites will run more frequently to accommodate the expected crowds. FGC will provide extra trains on its urban lines during the nights of Tuesday 23, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September, while TRAM services will operate continuously on the night of the 23rd and throughout the long festival weekend.
Rodalies commuter trains will operate a public-holiday timetable on Wednesday 24 September, although regional trains will keep to weekday frequencies. Meanwhile, Nitbus will maintain its usual night service from 10.30 p.m. to 6 a.m., with buses running every 20 minutes.
The changes aim to keep the city moving during one of Barcelona’s busiest and most vibrant celebrations, ensuring residents and visitors can enjoy La Mercè without transport worries.
