From 16 to 22 September 2025, Barcelona will mark European Mobility Week by offering residents a nearly free, three-day AMBici flexible membership pass for €0.01. Users can take advantage of this promotion using the code SEM25 when registering.

The initiative, organised by the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority, is the first of its kind and aims to encourage sustainable transport habits across the metropolitan area. To avoid operational issues, the offer has been capped at 5,000 passes. Once registered, users will have unlimited 30-minute rides for three days, provided they activate the subscription within the set timeframe.

Barcelona has been steadily expanding its cycling infrastructure and services, including extending AMBici’s operating hours to 2 a.m. and rolling out new flexible tariffs for short-term users. City officials argue that shared bicycles reduce traffic congestion and pollution while providing an affordable, accessible alternative to private cars.
This special promotion comes as part of the city’s wider participation in European Mobility Week, which features a programme of events designed to highlight cleaner, more inclusive transport systems. Registration for the cycling promotion and other activities opened at the beginning of September through the Barcelona City Council’s mobility page.
