Barcelona child pornography arrests have been made after a major police operation in the Ciutat Vella district.
The Mossos d’Esquadra detained two men, aged 46 and 48, on suspicion of possessing illicit material involving minors.
The investigation began following an anonymous tip and statements from three victims.

Consequently, officers executed a search warrant at a flat in the historic district on 17 December.

During the raid, police seized a substantial amount of evidence. Furthermore, they confiscated a laptop, a mobile phone, a high-end games console, and seven memory cards.
Additionally, officers recovered two photographic film reels, a camera, a USB storage device, 18 video tapes, and 118 CDs containing photographs. The material was stored across various digital and graphic media within the property.
One of the detained men already had a criminal record for similar offences and theft. Meanwhile, the other had prior convictions for crimes against public health. Both suspects were brought before a judge on Friday, 19 December.
The case highlights ongoing efforts to tackle serious crime in the city. This operation follows other recent security initiatives, such as the deployment of 800 officers in a wider Barcelona crime crackdown.
