Barcelona and its metropolitan area will host a series of vibrant food and drink festivals this weekend, offering residents and visitors diverse culinary experiences. Events range from a large craft beer fair in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat to a veteran gastronomic festival at Moll de la Fusta, alongside vermouth and wine celebrations further afield.

L'Hospitalet Craft Beer Fair Draws Enthusiasts

L'Hospitalet de Llobregat welcomes craft beer enthusiasts to its annual fair in Plaça de Lluís Companys. About 15 brewery stalls from around the world are present. They offer 75 taps and more than 200 different beer references.

Many of these are author beers and special editions from both local and international brewers. Some selections are very exclusive or difficult to find outside their countries of origin. Four food trucks provide street food options. Live music also entertains visitors. Entry to the L'Hospitalet Craft Beer Fair is free for all attendees.

Moll de la Fusta Gastronomic Festival Returns

The veteran gastronomic festival at Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona gathers over 100 local gastronomic and artisan projects. This year's edition introduces new participants. These include Pinullet, an urban cheesemaker, and The Nut Club, offering natural vegetable creams. Boletruff brings wild mushrooms, while Farrés Boqueria presents cured meats. La Nostra Mel features raw honey, and The Rat offers contemporary ratafia.

Festival classics also return. Oli Cometes provides extra virgin olive oil. Kina Chocolates showcases bean-to-bar chocolates. El Petit Bané offers organic fruits and vegetables. Outer Gin features gins made with botanicals. The festival also dedicates space to artisan objects for the table and zero-waste consumption projects.

The street food selection brings together prominent names from Barcelona's culinary scene. These include Aüc, Osteria Borbotta, Colmado Carpanta, Tope, Mantis, Warike, Bien Kebab, and La Cachapera. Attendees can also find craft beers and Swiss cheeses. Sweet options come from Morreig, Pasté, Mamma Tiramisú, Alterna Mostrador, and DelaCrem. Nomad Coffee provides speciality coffee. The festival additionally features workshops, round tables, and rides on a classic wooden sailboat.

Vilanova i la Geltrú Celebrates Vermouth Culture

Vilanova i la Geltrú hosts the second edition of Temps de Vermut, a fair celebrating the essence and diversity of vermouth. Passeig del Carme serves as the event's central hub. This avenue is a reference point for maritime gastronomy in the city. It also acts as a key meeting place for local residents.

Participants include Aperitius Tafaner, Coca i Fitó, Witty Wines, Antich, Caldero & Copa, 3 Cadires, Olivariana, Casa Vermouth Padró, Dos Déus, Bodegas Bellod, Maset, and Patates Piqué. Live music enhances the atmosphere. DJ Xavi V performs on Saturday 25th April. DJ Atmotic takes the stage on Sunday 26th April. Activities include a vermouth tasting on 25th April at 12:30. A workshop to create your own drink takes place on 26th April at 12:30. The fair also provides a dedicated children's area.

Terra Alta Wine Festival Explores Regional Flavours

The Denominació d'Origen (DO) Terra Alta invites visitors to discover the region through its wines, gastronomy, and heritage with the Primavera DO Terra Alta festival. A new feature this year is the 'Tastos de paisatge' (Landscape Tastings) cycle. These tastings occur in emblematic locations across the region. They take place in small groups, offering an intimate and immersive experience. This connects the wine with its natural, heritage, and cultural surroundings.

On Friday 24th April, Gandesa hosts an enomusical evening in Plaça del Comerç from 19:00 to 23:00. This event features DO Terra Alta wines and local gastronomy by Piqué. Cultural activities and DJ music run throughout the evening. On Saturday 25th April, Batea becomes the centre of the celebration. It hosts the Mostra de Vins de la DO Terra Alta (Terra Alta DO Wine Show) in Plaça de Catalunya. This show offers guided tastings and gastronomy by Ca l'Anton. Live music from Caipirinyes and The Tyets entertains guests. Children's activities are also available.

These diverse events highlight Catalonia's rich culinary scene, offering many opportunities for residents and tourists to explore local flavours and traditions. Organisers expect strong attendance across all locations, reinforcing the region's reputation as a gastronomic destination.
