Fifteen Barcelona restaurants and eateries are raising funds for vulnerable children through the 'Tast Solidari' (Solidarity Taste) initiative. Until 15th June, a portion of sales from specific dishes will support summer educational programmes for children at risk of exclusion.
Supporting Summer Programmes
The social entity Casal dels Infants organises this important campaign. These funds will ensure children and adolescents can access summer camps, colonies, and work camps. These activities provide essential educational leisure during school holidays when schools close, preventing a gap in support for vulnerable families.
Rosa Balaguer, Director General of Casal dels Infants, explained the initiative's importance. She stated, "We remain open during the holidays so that children and adolescents can enjoy them and find solutions to their needs. The solidarity of the establishments participating in Tast Solidari helps us achieve this."
Local Eateries Join the Cause
Eight establishments within Barcelona city are actively taking part. Botànic 26 on Torrijos, 26 offers a dish of leeks with romesco sauce. Collonut, located at Biscaia, 411, serves a Barceloneta bomba with aioli and bravas sauce.
Gaig, at la Nau Santa Maria, 5, features Casal dels Infants stew croquettes. El Pinotxo in Mercat de Sant Antoni provides its classic chickpeas with sausage. La Poma on la Rambla, 117 offers their popular Rambla bravas.
For those seeking international flavours, Louro on rambla dels Caputxins, 37 presents seared sea bass tataki with garlic and Asian mayonnaise. Soho House, situated at plaça del Duc de Medinaceli, 4, has tonarelli cacio e pepe. Tapas 24 on Diputació, 269 contributes chicken wings with Korean sauce.

Those who participate by ordering a solidarity dish or dessert will also enter a raffle. The prize is a cooking workshop for two people at the Cookiteca school. This offers over 100 cooking options to choose from, adding an extra incentive to support the cause.
