Barcelona police are investigating a sexual assault on a minor in a café toilet in Sant Gervasi on Wednesday, 3 June, at around 15:30. The venue was busy at the time, according to Metrópoli Abierta.
The victim was in the toilet when a man, described as being in his 30s, forced the door open and assaulted her. He left the café straight after the attack. The minor later went to a Mossos d'Esquadra police station to report what happened.
The Catalan police are now checking CCTV from inside the café and from nearby streets in the Sant Gervasi area. Officers are also following witness accounts that suggest the suspect is known locally and often visits the establishment.
The case has added to concern in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, where residents have already raised alarms about violent robberies in recent months. Local complaints have focused on incidents affecting young people and minors, especially near schools.
Mossos d'Esquadra say the investigation is ongoing as they try to locate the man in his 30s. For more Barcelona local coverage, see our Community and Sport pages.
