Barcelona’s speed camera fines saw a significant 20% decrease in 2025, with the ten most active radars issuing far fewer penalties than the previous year.

This means there were 34,514 fewer fines, suggesting a possible shift in driver behaviour.

Meridiana Avenue Still Leads Despite Decrease

The speed camera on Meridiana Avenue, 563, towards the city centre, remained the most active, issuing 23,542 fines in 2025.

However, that’s a 32% decrease from the 34,652 fines issued in 2024.

Ranking Shuffle and New Camera Locations

There’s been a notable shuffle in the rankings.

The camera on the Ronda de Dalt near Nou Barris fell from second to fourth place with a 47.7% decrease.

However, via Augusta, 331, rose to second place, followed by Diagonal Avenue, 671.

The main entry routes into the city-Meridiana, Via Augusta, and Diagonal-still account for most speeding violations.

Municipal sources suggest the reduction in speed camera fines could be attributed to changes in driver behaviour and increased awareness of camera locations.
