Barcelona summer camp aid has reached 1,591 children in 2025, a significant 24.4% increase from last year.

This funding supports 99 organisations across Barcelona. The initiative, managed by the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities (IMPD), has approved 97.7% of all grant applications.

Councillor for Health, People with Disabilities and Strategy against Loneliness, Marta Villanueva, emphasised the city’s commitment. Organisations receiving grants must run inclusive activities.

They also need appropriate resources to support children with intensive needs. This approach has proven successful. Meanwhile, the IMPD has also launched training programmes for staff at these organisations. Jocviu offered two in-person sessions for activity coordinators and managers. Professionals from the Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Hospital also provided three online training module
