Barcelona’s Tast a La Rambla returns to Plaça de Catalunya from 28 to 31 May 2026, bringing one of the city’s best-known food events back to the centre. The festival will once again fill the square with restaurants, pastry shops, tastings and live activity.
The four-day event runs from Thursday 28 May to Sunday 31 May. Opening hours are 12:00 to 22:00 on Thursday and Sunday, then 12:00 to 00:00 on Friday and Saturday. According to a report in ABC Cataluña, attributed to Sergi Doria, 2026 could be the final year the festival is held in Plaça de Catalunya.
More than 30 restaurants and pastry shops are set to take part. The line-up includes Atempo, Bar Alegria, Blanc from Mandarin Oriental, Cinc Sentits, Compartir Barcelona, Dos Pebrots, Enoteca Paco Pérez, Gaig Barcelona and Tapas 24, according to Barcelona Tourism. Pastry names include Pastisseria Escribà, L'Atelier Barcelona, Mervier Canal and Takashi Ochiai.
Visitors can buy dishes in small portions, with most tapas costing around six tokens, or six euros. Entry is free, and tokens are sold on site. Many stalls also accept card payments and mobile devices, which should make buying food quicker during busy periods.
Alongside the food, the programme includes showcookings, tastings, workshops, live music and DJ sets. The event is organised by Amics de La Rambla and Grupo GSR, with support from Barcelona City Council. For readers following more city events, see our Community and Sport pages.
Plaça de Catalunya remains a practical base for the festival, with easy access by metro, bus or on foot. For Barcelona residents, expats and visitors, Tast a La Rambla is a simple way to sample the city’s food scene in one place.
