However, the popular 50% discount on monthly and quarterly passes remains. This price adjustment matches the Consumer Price Index (CPI) according to transport authorities.

The Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) confirmed these changes following regional and local authority agreements. Officials stated the adjustment maintains service quality amid higher operating costs. Meanwhile, this comes as the network handles record passenger numbers.

Barcelona Transport Fares 2026: New T-Casual and Single Ticket Prices

Occasional travellers face the most direct impact. For example, the T-Casual (10 journeys) increases from €12.55 to €13.00 for one zone. Similarly, the single ticket (Bitllet Senzill) jumps from €2.65 to €2.90.

Tourists using the T-Dia (24-hour pass) will now pay €12.00, up from €11.55. Additionally, the T-Grup pass (70 trips in 30 days) rises to €91.00 from €87.35.

Regular commuters continue benefiting from state-subsidised discounts. Therefore, the ATM keeps the 50% reduction on T-Usual and T-Jove cards. This prevents a sharper price spike for residents.

However, the higher base rate means discounted final prices still increase slightly:

  • T-Usual (unlimited monthly travel): Increases from €22.00 to €22.80.
  • T-Jove (unlimited quarterly travel for under-30s): Increases from €44.00 to €45.50.
  • T-Familiar (8 trips in 30 days): Increases from €11.05 to €11.50.

Subsidised passes for large families and vulnerable groups retain their bonuses. Nevertheless, their base calculation reflects the 3.5% increase. The city maintains its commitment to social tickets and discounted fares.

Passengers holding unused pre-15 January tickets must note new expiration rules. Standard passes bought at 2025 prices remain valid only until 28 February. Most standard tickets carry a short grace period.

Longer-term passes like T-Jove can be used until 30 April. According to the official ATM fare schedule, users can exchange expired tickets by paying the difference. This exchange option is available at T-Mobilitat service points until 30 June. These changes use the digital T-Mobilitat system.
