ISE audiovisual congress expands its Barcelona footprint with a landmark move to the Montjuïc venue for the first time.

The world’s largest professional audiovisual industry event continues its rapid growth in the Catalan capital since relocating from Amsterdam.

Following its successful takeover of the entire Fira Gran Via facility earlier this year, the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) congress will extend to Montjuïc’s Plaza España venue for its February 2026 edition.

This strategic expansion comes as the event outgrows its current space while awaiting completion of Fira de Barcelona’s new Gran Via pavilion in 2028.

ISE Audiovisual Congress Growth Strategy Takes Shape

The expansion begins with ISE’s partnership with EdTech Congress, an independent educational technology event that will now integrate into the larger audiovisual showcase. Furthermore, this collaboration represents the first step in a broader growth strategy that organisers plan to accelerate in 2027.

Mike Blackman, Integrated Systems Europe’s managing director, emphasised that the partnership aims to “bring attendees visionary concepts and transformative products that enrich learning environments.” The educational technology sector represents a natural extension for the audiovisual industry’s capabilities.

According to recent innovation rankings, Catalonia’s thriving technology ecosystem provides an ideal backdrop for this expansion. The region’s commitment to technological advancement aligns perfectly with ISE’s growth trajectory.

Ramon Eixarch, president of EduTech Cluster, revealed that artificial intelligence will feature prominently in the expanded programme. “This collaboration marks a milestone for the European edtech ecosystem,” he stated, highlighting the global platform being created for educational leaders and technology providers.

The 2026 edition will introduce ‘Spark’, a new zone dedicated to audiovisual production and streaming platforms including Netflix, HBO and Amazon Prime. Organisers are finalising participation agreements with major streaming companies, with plans to potentially relocate this section to Montjuïc in 2027 if successful.

Constantí Serrallonga, general manager of Fira de Barcelona, expressed enthusiasm about “this project, which aligns with our core values of promoting innovation in high-potential impact sectors.” The venue expansion demonstrates Barcelona’s capacity to host world-class business events across multiple locations.

The ISE audiovisual congress continues to solidify Barcelona’s position as a leading European hub for technology and innovation events. This strategic growth ensures the city maintains its competitive edge in the global events industry while accommodating the expanding needs of major international congresses.
