In Barcelona, volunteers removed 28 kilograms of rubbish and 4,500 cigarette butts from Barceloneta beach during a clean-up organised by The Beach Centre, betevé reported.
The clean-up took place on one of the city’s most visited beaches, where litter and cigarette waste are a regular problem. The aim was to improve the condition of the coastline and cut down on the rubbish left behind by beach users.
