The Bellvitge Music Festival, known for bringing thousands together in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, is planning a fresh chapter. Organisers have confirmed that the urban music event will not take place in 2025, instead preparing for a relaunch in 2026 independent of the traditional neighbourhood festivities where it first took root.

Launched in 2024, the festival quickly made an impression, drawing 6,000 attendees to Bellvitge Park during its debut edition. But with ambitions to grow, organisers now believe the event needs its own space and calendar slot to thrive.
‘We are restructuring the project and expect to hold new meetings at the end of September or early October,’ explained Dani Banda, one of the creators of the festival. The aim is to ensure that the event can stand on its own, attracting not only local residents but also music fans from across the metropolitan area and beyond.
The decision reflects a common challenge for grassroots festivals that outgrow their community origins. By decoupling from the annual neighbourhood fair, the Bellvitge Music Festival hopes to build a stronger brand identity and secure more sustainable growth.
If successful, the move could elevate L’Hospitalet’s profile on the urban music map, positioning the suburb as a cultural hub in its own right. For now, all eyes are on 2026, when organisers promise a renewed format and an even larger stage for the festival’s next act.
