Police in Catalonia are investigating after a body was found in the Besòs river on Monday morning. The discovery occurred in Sant Adrià de Besòs, specifically beneath the Pont de Ferro (Iron Bridge).

The Mossos d’Esquadra have confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, initial examinations suggest no indications of foul play. Therefore, police sources emphasise that the death is not currently being treated as a homicide.

According to sources close to the investigation, the victim appeared to have sustained a significant head injury. Consequently, early hypotheses suggest the injury resulted from a train accident, which led to the victim falling into the river. This incident follows another recent accidental death investigation by the Mossos d’Esquadra.
