From 19 to 21 September 2025, the charming Pla de Palau square in Barcelona’s El Born will once again buzz with culinary creativity, as the 18th edition of Born Street Food takes centre stage. A highlight of the Mercè Festival, this gastronomic gathering invites locals and visitors to savour signature dishes from nearly twenty of the city’s finest eateries, bringing community charm and flavours to the heart of the city.

Organised by the Barcelona Born Gourmet Association under the Born Districte Gastronòmic banner, the festival showcases 18 top-tier restaurants and gourmet shops. Between midday and 11 pm each day, attendees can sample creations such as:
• Arròs brut with cuttlefish from Restaurant Cadaqués
• Traditional fideus a la cassola by 1881 per Sagardi
• Paella Parellada de pescado from 7 Portes
• Potato omelette with chorizo by Bodega Vidrios y Cristales
• Grilled txistorra on coca by Golfo de Bizkaia
• Squid rabas with Espelette-pepper mayonnaise at Euskal Etxea Taberna
• Pasta cacio e pepe with black truffle from Bronzo Bar e Cucina
• Artisan cheesecake by Jon Cake
…and many more mouthwatering specialties .
Wine & Cheese Pairings to Savour
At 12:30 pm daily, wine and cheese tastings hosted by Vila Viniteca and La Vinya del Senyor, curated by sommelier Jordi Bausa, offer a refined accompaniment to the street food offerings. Bookings are free (with minimum consumption) via the Born Districte Gastronòmic website, but places are limited to 20 per session .

As part of the much-loved Mercè Festival—a kaleidoscope of Catalan culture, tradition, and community—Born Street Food brings culinary artistry out into the streets. It celebrates local talent, nurtures urban culinary heritage, and extends an open invitation to share a joyful dining experience beneath the Barcelona sky.
