The brother of renowned rapper Morad has been arrested by Barcelona police following a violent knife attack on three teenagers during weekend festivities in Molins de Rei. The incident has resulted in the underage suspect being placed in a secure juvenile detention facility.
Weekend Violence Rocks Barcelona Festival
According to sources close to the investigation, the attack occurred around 2:00 AM on Saturday near Molins de Rei railway station during the town’s annual celebrations. The rapper’s brother, who is a minor, allegedly used a bladed weapon alongside another youth to assault three teenage victims, inflicting facial cuts that required medical attention at a local healthcare facility.
Juvenile Detention Following Court Order
Following his arrest by Molins de Rei Municipal Police, the suspect was immediately transferred to the Minor’s Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities have ordered his detention at the Can Llupià juvenile centre in Barcelona under a closed regime, reflecting the serious nature of the charges.
The weekend’s festivities saw heightened police presence, with Mossos d’Esquadra and local municipal police implementing a joint security operation across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. This comprehensive policing effort resulted in a total of 13 arrests, with eight individuals charged for violent robberies involving wallets, mobile phones, and watches, whilst two others faced charges for threatening security personnel.
