CaixaForum Barcelona has unveiled Somos Naturaleza (‘We Are Nature’), an immersive exhibition designed to transport visitors into the heart of the natural world. Produced by Oasis Immersive Studios in collaboration with National Geographic, the show opened on Thursday 18 September and will run until 6 April, marking its European debut after tours in Montreal and Mexico City.

The exhibition unfolds across three themed spaces that explore biodiversity through striking visuals and soundscapes. It reflects the commitments made at the COP-15 summit in Montreal, where nearly 200 countries pledged to halt biodiversity loss and protect 30 per cent of ecosystems by 2030. The project has already been recognised with a Numix Award in 2025 for its innovative use of digital storytelling.

Visitors are invited on a sensory journey through art and science, with segments focusing on flora, fauna and the interconnectedness of life. The narrative highlights not only the beauty of ecosystems but also the urgent challenges facing them, blending education with aesthetic experience. Interactive elements and thematic set design further enhance the impact, while accompanying educational zones provide resources for families and schools.

Mireia Domingo, director of CaixaForum Barcelona, described the experience as ‘a hymn to optimism and a celebration of art and biodiversity as a reflection of our inseparable bond with nature’. Denys Lavigne, co-founder of Oasis Immersive Studios, emphasised its mission to ‘infuse hope and inspire collective action through beauty, emotion and knowledge’.

International partners such as the United Nations, the David Suzuki Foundation and Age of Union have contributed, ensuring a global perspective. After Barcelona, the exhibition will continue its European tour at CaixaForum Madrid, underscoring its ambition to spark dialogue on conservation across cultures.
