Barcelona's Eixample district welcomes a new culinary offering as Casa Fiero restaurant partners with Armando, the delivery service from Madrid's Familia La Ancha. This collaboration introduces the renowned Escalope Armando, a 40-centimetre veal cutlet, to the city for a limited period.

The "Doble Ración" experience features the iconic Escalope Armando, known for its generous size. It comes topped with "mar y montaña" noodles, a mix of chicken wings, prawns, and boletus mushrooms. Diners can choose from side dishes including chips, grilled red pepper, or Batavia lettuce with spring onion.

Casa Fiero, led by chef Víctor Ródenas, will serve the escalope at its Carrer Londres, 89 location. The dish costs €26 per person for dine-in. For those preferring to eat at home, Armando Delivery offers a version for €24.

The collaboration started with a special pop-up event on Sunday, 10th May, from 13:00 to 15:00. This event, held at Casa Fiero, offered a unique menu for €50 per person, excluding drinks. The menu included scallops with piparra emulsion. It also featured mature picanha coca with smoked egg yolk and Mahón cheese, alongside grilled leeks with toasted almond escabeche. The Escalope Armando served as the main course, followed by Fismuler's famous cheesecake.

From Monday, 11th May, the Escalope Armando became available daily at Casa Fiero and through Armando Delivery. This special offering will run until 14th June in Barcelona. Madrid will also feature the dish via delivery from 1st to 14th June.

The History of Escalope Armando

The Escalope Armando holds a special place in Spanish culinary history. It originated in the 1970s at La Ancha restaurant in Madrid. A regular customer's persistence led to its creation, and it quickly became a family emblem. The dish later transitioned to a delivery format in 2020, reaching a wider audience.

This "Doble Ración" initiative allows Casa Fiero to continue its focus on culinary memory and shared dining experiences. These brief, recognisable collaborations aim to connect diners with memorable dishes. Armando, in turn, brings a dish to Barcelona that tells a story of a long-standing hospitality family.

Residents and visitors in Barcelona have a limited window to experience this celebrated dish. The collaboration highlights a trend of restaurants partnering to offer unique, temporary culinary experiences. This partnership brings a taste of Madrid's rich gastronomic heritage directly to Barcelona's vibrant food scene.
