Two motorcyclists have died in separate road crashes in Catalonia, with one fatal incident in Garriguella, Girona, and another in Polinyà, Barcelona. The Servei Català de Trànsit confirmed both cases, which involved collisions with other vehicles.
The first crash happened at 22:29 on Sunday, 25 May, on the C-252 at kilometre 54.6 in Garriguella. A 68-year-old man from Rabós d'Empordà died after his motorcycle collided with two cars. Five Mossos d'Esquadra patrols, two Bombers de la Generalitat units and two Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) psychological support units attended the scene.
The second fatal crash was reported at 08:33 on Monday on the B-142 in Polinyà, in the Barcelona area. Mossos d'Esquadra said the motorcyclist died after a head-on collision with a car. Three Mossos patrols, two Bombers units and three SEM units responded, and the road was closed in both directions while investigators worked at the scene.
Both incidents are now under investigation by Mossos d'Esquadra to establish the exact circumstances. The Servei Català de Trànsit regularly issues road safety warnings and runs campaigns aimed at reducing accidents on Catalan roads.
