The tribute follows a severe collision involving two trains in the municipality of Adamuz. According to initial reports, a train travelling on the Málaga-Madrid route derailed. This caused a secondary derailment of a train moving on the adjacent track. Therefore, this sequence of events led to a high number of casualties.
Authorities have confirmed 39 fatalities so far, with approximately one hundred people sustaining injuries. Emergency services report that several of the injured remain in serious condition.
