Barcelona will host the 46th Cursa El Corte Inglés on 10 May 2026, with free registration now open for up to 40,000 participants in the city's popular 10-kilometre race. This annual event allows people to run or walk, often serving as an introduction to popular races for many residents.

Participants can register online through the official website. Registration is completely free of charge. The registration form requires participants to select a location, date, and time for bib collection.

Bibs can be collected from three El Corte Inglés stores: Diagonal, Plaça de Catalunya, and Can Dragó. Collection dates run from Monday, 4 May, to Saturday, 9 May. The collection hours are from 09:00 to 21:00 each day.

The 10-Kilometre Route

The Cursa El Corte Inglés 2026 will follow its established 10-kilometre route. The race starts on Avinguda Diagonal, directly in front of the El Corte Inglés store. Runners will proceed along Avinguda Diagonal, passing Plaça de Francesc Macià and Plaça de Cinc d'Oros.

The route then turns onto Passeig de Gràcia, heading downhill. It continues by turning onto Carrer d'Aragó, Carrer de Viladomat, Gran Via, and Carrer de la Marina. From Carrer de la Marina, participants will take Carrer de Casp to reach the finish line. The race concludes, as is customary, in Plaça de Catalunya.

This 10-kilometre distance became standard in 2022. Previously, the race covered over 10.6 kilometres, which was an unusual distance for typical race circuits. The current route avoids the Olympic Stadium on Montjuïc, a feature of earlier editions.

Community Impact and Charity Support

Since 1986, the Cursa El Corte Inglés has partnered with a local charity. For its 46th edition, the event supports the Johan Cruyff Foundation. This foundation develops and supports sports projects for children in need worldwide.

The Johan Cruyff Foundation creates spaces for children through initiatives like Cruyff Courts and Pati14. It promotes adapted sports programmes and social transformation for children and young people with special needs. The foundation aims to ensure that sport is accessible to those for whom it is not a guaranteed part of their lives.

Transport and Traffic Disruptions

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has an agreement with the Cursa El Corte Inglés organisers. TMB will provide single-journey tickets to participants while stocks last, with 30,000 tickets available. TMB recommends using the metro for travel within the affected area due to expected traffic restrictions.

The race will cause significant changes to Barcelona's bus network. Numerous TMB bus lines will modify their routes on 10 May. Affected lines include D40, D50, H6, H8, H10, H12, H16, V3, V5, V7, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, 6, 7, 19, 22, 24, 27, 33, 34, 39, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 67, 68, 78, 113, 141, and the blue line of the Barcelona Bus Turístic. Private vehicle traffic will also face restrictions along the race route and surrounding areas.

Barcelona residents and visitors should plan their journeys carefully on 10 May. The Cursa El Corte Inglés remains a beloved event, bringing together thousands for a day of sport and community spirit, while also supporting a vital cause.
