A cyclist has died this Sunday morning in Subirats, Barcelona, following a traffic collision with a car. This tragic incident marks the third road fatality in Catalonia this year.
The Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT) confirmed the fatality in a statement released shortly after the incident. According to officials, the crash occurred at kilometre point 4.8 on the C-243a road. Emergency response to Subirats collision
The Mossos d’Esquadra received notification of the accident at 07:48. The collision involved a single passenger car and the bicycle. However, the specific circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
Emergency services were dispatched immediately to the scene. The response included four patrols from the Mossos d’Esquadra, three crews from the Generalitat Firefighters (Bombers), and several units from the Medical Emergency System (SEM). In addition, emergency services also responded to a recent fatal transport accident in Catalonia on the R4 train line.
