Rising Road Fatalities in Catalonia

This incident marks the 39th fatality on Catalonia's interurban road network since the start of the year. Provisional data from the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT) confirms this rising toll. The C-152 road connects several towns in the Garrotxa region, including Olot, and is a key route for local traffic and tourists exploring the volcanic zone.

The previous day, Friday, 8 May, two men died in another severe road accident. A 27-year-old and a 50-year-old man died after their vehicles collided head-on. This crash happened on the N-240 road in Montblanc, Tarragona.
