Editorial Policy
Editorial Policy
Barna.News is an independent English-language news publication. This page sets out the editorial principles that guide our work.
Independence
Barna.News has no political affiliation. We are not funded by any political party, government body, or commercial interest that influences our editorial output. Our journalism is funded by readers through memberships and by advertising that is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content.
Accuracy
We verify information before publishing. We use named sources where possible and explain when we rely on anonymous sources. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy.
Fairness
We aim to present all sides of a story fairly. Where we publish opinion or analysis, it is clearly labelled as such and distinguished from news reporting.
Transparency
We are clear about who we are, how we are funded, and what our interests are. We do not accept payments in exchange for editorial coverage. Any sponsored content or paid partnerships are clearly labelled.
Privacy
We respect the privacy of individuals and only publish private information when it is clearly in the public interest. We take particular care when reporting on victims of crime, minors, and vulnerable people.
Sources
We link to original sources wherever possible. We do not publish rumour or speculation without clearly labelling it as such.
Complaints
