Barcelona is gearing up for one of the most spectacular events on the urban sports calendar as the Extreme Barcelona festival kicks off this weekend at the Parc del Fòrum. Running from Friday to Sunday, the event will feature more than 500 athletes competing across multiple disciplines.

Barcelona’s Councillor for Sport, David Escudé, described the event as “one of the most spectacular sports events of the year,” emphasising that entry is free of charge for all spectators.

Organised under the Urban World Series, the festival aims to push the boundaries of urban sports every year. Director Víctor Casanovas said the objective is to deliver both “the best show for the public and the best facilities for athletes.”

Among the highlights, Olympic BMX champion José ‘Maligno’ Torres, who won gold at the Paris 2024 Games, will be competing in Barcelona.
In addition, for the second consecutive year, the Freestyle Trampoline World Championship will be decided at Extreme Barcelona, further cementing the festival’s global sporting relevance.
