Enhanced Surveillance Across FGC Network

The two-year contract covers surveillance operations on existing FGC lines, including Barcelona-Vallès, Llobregat-Anoia, and Lleida-La Pobla de Segur. It also extends to future lines managed by the company, such as Lleida-Terrassa and the R-Aeroport service. This comprehensive approach ensures security improvements across all FGC facilities and trains.

Government Endorsement and Public Impact

The Govern emphasised the service’s essential nature, stating it “contributes to achieving high levels of security and quality in the service.” This initiative directly impacts hundreds of thousands of daily commuters and tourists using Barcelona’s vital public transport system. The Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s police force, endorse FGC’s security model. This endorsement highlights the collaborative approach to public safety within the region. It ensures a consistent and robust security presence across all FGC facilities and trains.

Commitment to Passenger Safety

FGC operates a crucial network connecting Barcelona with its metropolitan area and other parts of Catalonia. It serves key commuter routes and tourist destinations. The Llobregat-Anoia line, for instance, connects Barcelona with towns in the Baix Llobregat and Anoia regions. This significant investment underscores the Catalan Government’s commitment to passenger safety and service quality on its public transport networks. The enhanced security measures will roll out over the next two years. They aim to provide a safer travel experience for everyone.
