Catalan police have arrested five men in connection with an armed robbery that took place on 2 August in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona. The suspects, aged between 24 and 42, allegedly attacked a couple sitting in their car, using a firearm and a stun device.

The arrests were made on 16 September following an investigation that linked the men to the assault. According to the Mossos d’Esquadra, the group collectively had more than 20 prior offences, many of them related to property crimes.
Police raids were carried out at two addresses in Barcelona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, where officers recovered watches and jewellery believed to be connected to the crime. Four of the men have since been brought before a judge, while one was released on the condition that he appear in court when summoned.
The case highlights the continued challenge of violent robberies in the metropolitan area, often carried out by repeat offenders. The Mossos confirmed that alongside the firearm, the assailants also used an electric defence weapon during the attack.
