Barcelona International Welcome teams up with CaixaBank Social Action next month for a free session on volunteering opportunities across the city. The event takes place on 5 November at CaixaBank’s All in One space on Plaça de Francesc Macià.

The session runs from 6pm to 7:30pm. It’s aimed at newcomers who want to connect with the local community whilst making a positive impact. Registration is required as spaces are limited.

CaixaBank’s volunteering programme is open to everyone, not just bank customers. There are no special requirements to join. Both in-person and online activities are available, ranging from one-off events to regular commitments.

The programme specifically focuses on helping vulnerable groups. Volunteers work with various social organisations throughout Barcelona. Activities range from community support to educational projects.

What’s particularly useful is the programme’s digital platform. Volunteers can access the CaixaBank Volunteering website and app to browse opportunities. There’s also a Volunteering Campus offering training resources.

Moreover, participants can create a “social CV” tracking their volunteer activities. This makes it easier to showcase community involvement for future job applications or personal development.

The session will be conducted in both English and Spanish. This makes it accessible for Barcelona’s international community. Attendees will learn about different ways to share their time, skills and energy across the city.

However, places are limited. Anyone interested should register online as soon as possible. The event is completely free.

For those living in Barcelona who’ve been thinking about getting involved in their community, this session offers a straightforward starting point. It’s a chance to understand what volunteering looks like in the city without any pressure to commit immediately.
