Girona festivals 2026 are arriving fast. Major events and headline shows stack up from late February through early May.
To start the season, the Events calendar is led by the Black Music Festival. It marks its 25th anniversary. Organisers position it as a curated ‘discovery’ event in an increasingly crowded live-music market.

Black Music Festival turns 25 (and brings major names)
The festival launched in 2002 as the Festival de Blues de Salt. It adopted the Black Music Festival name in 2003.
Over the years, it has hosted artists including Johnny Winter, Chuck Berry and Gloria Gaynor, plus former Rolling Stones members Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
In the current edition, directed by Pau Marquès, organisers highlight a programme led by Ben Harper.
The festival schedules concerts across Girona and beyond, including dates in Lleida and Palma. Meanwhile, organisers also point to the queer trio The Harlem Gospel Travelers as a standout act.
“The festival has remained faithful to a concept: it has a point of discovery and prescription,” a spokesperson said. They argued that high-quality acts do not always break through, because we live in a world of constant noise.
Enderrock Awards: two gala nights in Girona (March)
Next, the spring cycle continues with the Enderrock Awards. They mark the 10th anniversary of their Girona run with two gala events at the Auditori on 25 and 26 March.
Festival Strenes runs until May (tickets already selling fast)
Then, starting the day after the Enderrock galas, singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz is set to open the 14th edition of Festival Strenes on 27 March. The festival runs through to 3 May.
Festival director Xavi Pascual said several concerts have already sold out, including shows by Joan Dausà, Lax’n’Busto, Els Amics de les Arts and Buhos.
More key events across the Girona region (late Feb–April)
- Festival Internacional del Circ Elefant d’Or: 76 artists from 16 countries in Girona, 26 February to 2 March.
- Festival de Peralada (Easter edition): 2–5 April, featuring conductor/harpsichordist William Christie and a recovery of the previously unperformed oratorio Cristo condannato by Antonio Caldara.
- Festival Recòndit (Pla de l’Estany) and Ítaca (Empordà): concerts including Morad and Love of Lesbian, adding to the region’s decentralised festival circuit.
Between the Black Music Festival launch, awards nights and spring showcases, Girona and its surrounding counties are once again shaping up as one of Catalonia’s most active live-culture hubs as winter turns into spring.
