A multiple-vehicle collision has forced the complete closure of the C-31 highway at the entrance to the Glòries Tunnel. Consequently, evening traffic into Barcelona has come to a standstill.
The Glòries Tunnel accident occurred at approximately 18:00 on Wednesday. It involved seven vehicles. The resulting blockage has paralysed one of the city’s most critical entry points. Therefore, severe tailbacks now stretch back to Sant Adrià del Besòs.

No Serious Injuries Reported in Glòries Tunnel Accident
Despite the number of vehicles involved in the pile-up, initial reports suggest the incident is “without gravity.” No serious injuries are immediately apparent. However, the positioning of the damaged vehicles has made the road impassable. This situation exacerbates the congestion typically seen during the evening rush hour.
Diversions and Road Closures After Glòries Tunnel Accident
The Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service) has closed the affected section of the highway. This closure allows the Barcelona Fire Brigade (Bombers de Barcelona) to clear the wreckage safely.
Authorities have implemented diversions through Rambla Prim to manage the flow of vehicles. Meanwhile, drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible. The incident has also disrupted access from the C-31 to the Ronda Litoral (B-10) in both northbound and southbound directions. Access restrictions are currently in place.
