Glovo cyclist accidents continue to raise safety concerns after a delivery rider struck a 56-year-old pedestrian in Barcelona’s Sant Antoni neighbourhood.
The incident occurred around 5:40pm on Saturday at the intersection of Tamarit Street and Mistral Avenue, according to local reports.

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, where the victim received immediate medical attention before being transported to hospital in a conscious state.
Glovo Cyclist Investigation Underway
Witnesses reported that the delivery rider was carrying a Glovo backpack and travelling in the wrong direction in a pedestrian zone when the collision occurred. Furthermore, the cyclist appeared to be moving at high speed, according to testimony from the Instagram account Salvem Sant Antoni Project, whose representative witnessed the accident. The Municipal Guard has taken charge of the investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim initially lost consciousness following the impact but regained it shortly afterward, though witnesses described her as “very disoriented.” Medical emergency services (SEM) provided street-side treatment before the hospital transfer. Meanwhile, the Barcelona City Council has confirmed only that the woman was conscious during transport, without providing further details about her condition or confirming whether the cyclist was indeed a Glovo delivery worker.
