A bizarre twist helped Barcelona police solve a robbery in the Barceloneta neighbourhood last Thursday. Local officers noticed a man speeding along the pavement on an electric scooter while pedestrians shouted “thief!” in pursuit. After a brief chase, they detained the suspect.
The alleged victim accused the man of violently snatching a gold chain from her neck. However, a search of the suspect revealed nothing. He was taken into custody and brought to a medical centre for a routine check. There, the attending doctor noticed something unusual in the suspect’s mouth. Upon inspection, the missing gold chain was discovered hidden inside.
The medical intervention provided the crucial evidence needed to resolve the case fully. The suspect has since been placed at the disposal of the judicial system.
